Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Dear McGarvin Parents and Students,

At McGarvin, your child will experience an outstanding educational program where they will be challenged and supported. The staff is highly qualified and strives to meet the educational goals for the district, state and nation, while taking into account the social-emotional needs of each student. The teaching staff is provided with ongoing professional development that focuses on research based instructional strategies to improve classroom instruction and supporting student motivation. Our teachers are committed to providing an instructional program that is rigorous and has high standards to prepare our students with 21st Century skills that are needed to be successful for college and career.  This commitment to an excellent educational program is what makes McGarvin one of the highest performing intermediate schools in the district and state.

Our success is because of the collaboration of all stakeholders including parents, teachers, students, and support staff working together to make McGarvin an exceptional school. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved at school which include: School Site Council, English Language Advisory Committee, Parent/Teacher/Student Organization (PTSO), Back -to-School Night, and Open House.  We encourage you to use AERIES Parent Portal to monitor your child’s academic progress and Parent Square to stay connected with the teachers and administration through our announcements and photos.

On behalf of the teachers and staff, I would like to thank you for all the support we receive from our parents. Together, we can help our students be successful at school and prepare them for a promising future.
